Project idea
The project aims to promote a better understanding and integration of minorities through appreciating the diverse needs, cultures and values of both minority and majority communities. The concept of minorities includes disabled, ethnic minorities, gender and sexual minorities and economic minorities. Partners will develop materials and pedagogical methods to make learning more attractive to students and to integrate minority students, involving their families where appropriate. Intercultural exchange through use of IT and involvement of pupils in planning and evaluation will also be aimed at. The project aims to also raise awareness of minorities across educational institutions, considering structural factors (such as access for disabled, language support for minorities, non-discriminatory teaching materials and practices, etc.) and pedagogical factors (such as content of teaching materials). It will seek to influence decision makers. Partners will encourage development of new skills relevant to personal and professional life such as communication/presentation, decision-making, conflict resolution, and the team work needed for an integrated Europe.
